Despite the grand wealth of vacation accommodations in the Smokies, those who enjoy RV parks and the RV lifestyle might it somewhat more difficult to find information for the RV parks in the Smokies. Smoky Mountain Jeep Rentals in Wears Valley provides “RV Parks in the Smokies” where visitors can get concise, useful information on over 24 RV parks in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Sevierville, Wears Valley and Townsend; including a list of amenities and a map pinpointing their locations. http://rvparksinthesmokies.com/
A lesser known and advertised city that occupies the gorgeous foothills of the Smoky Mountains is Cosby, TN, about 15 minutes east of Gatlinburg on Highway 321. Cosby is sort of like the Gatlinburg-area equivalent of Townsend, TN; a MUCH more subdued and much less trafficked and occupied area that nonetheless can have some items of interest as well as providing a genuinely peaceful Smoky Mountain getaway.
And in Cosby is our favorite cabin rental provider for the community, the aptly named Cosby Creek Cabins that has cabins in and on the way to the community. They specialize in creekside/riverside cabins that sit alongside the famous Cosby Creek and add a new level of ambience to a morning, afternoon or evening out barbecuing on the deck or soaking in a hot tub after a long day out and about.
Cosby Creek Cabins offers houses that are 1-4 bedrooms in size, as well as some that are pet-friendly. Their houses include modern amenities such as:
• Cable TV
• Charcoal Grills
• Gas Fireplaces
• Sleeper Sofas
• Washers and Dryers
• Air Conditioned
• Bed/Bath Linens
• DVD players
• FREE WiFi Internet
• Fully Equipped Kitchens
• Hot Tubs
• Mountain Views
• Indoor Jacuzzis
• Porch Swings
As of writing, there are over 20 cabins currently available for rent throughout the month and they have specials and discounts available. See more on Cosby Creek Cabins at www.cosbycreekcabins.com.

* Ober Gatlinburg – Winter Sports *
Ober Gatlinburg is the mountainside amusement park overlooking the city and it functions in the Winter season as both a family fun center and a sports center where they offer the only place to ski, snowboard, snowtube and ice skate for miles around. Definitely a worthy visit. www.obergatlinburg.com

* The Arts and Crafts Community *
Naturally, an environment like the Glades and further artisan places along Highway 321 will be the perfect place to build holiday spirit. Many places will have Christmas sales, wonderful gift items you can’t find just anywhere, music playing both on speaker and occasionally live, awesome restaurants like Three Jimmys, The Ship and, of course, much more just waiting for you to discover it. http://www.gatlinburgcrafts.com/
